After spending 12 days in the International space station, a Russian actress and director with the cosmonaut returned to the earth on Sunday.

A Russian film crew bid farewell in the international space station on Saturday after completing their mission to make the first movie ever filmed in space, and they safely landed on Earth on Sunday.

They spend 12 days onboard filming their movie scenes, and after that, all the crewmembers safely landed in Kazakhstan by parachute-assisted landing.

In this movie Russian actress, Yulia Peresild, 37 playing the role of a doctor who travels to the space station to save cosmonauts life. This project has beaten Hollywood in the chapter of movie-making in space, as the Hollywood actor Tom Cruise announced that they are going to shoot the movie in space with NASA and Elon Musk SpaceX.

“It was difficult psychologically, physically, and emotionally … but I think when we reach our goal all the challenges won’t seem so bad,” said Peresild – who was selected out of 3,000 applicants for the role – at a pre-flight press conference on Monday.

“This is a one-time experience,”

“It seemed that 12 days was a lot, but when it was all over, I didn’t want to leave,” she told Russian television.

In the long list of the “First” for the Russian space industry, this mission will also be added to the list if it will successfully be done.

The Soviets launched the first satellite Sputnik and sent into orbit the first animal, a dog named Laika, the first man, Yuri Gagarin, and the first woman, Valentina Tereshkova.
